I am pleased to offer clients two different methods of counselling, either face to face (in person) at our Office in Bagshot, Surrey, or on-line via Zoom or Skype.
Some clients choose a combination of both services to work around their busy lives and other commitments.
There is no evidence to suggest that face to face counselling achieves superior results in comparison to online counselling.
Some people, find it easy talking about their issues in a face to face environment, where others may find it difficult, awkward or embarrassing in this environment and take comfort from the familiarity of their own home or a place they know and feel secure in. Online counselling enables you to receive the same quality service from the therapist but from your own location.
There is no need to worry about the journey to see the counsellor and the stress that is commonly associated having to navigate through traffic to be somewhere for a set time.
Despite advances in technology, all devices are susceptible to loss of signal/reception so there may occasionally be breaks in the session.
There is still no way of guaranteeing complete confidentiality when using a computer or electronic device but every effort is made to ensure that the process is as safe as possible for both parties. Our preferred application is Zoom (or Skype) as recommended by the BACP.
You will need a PC, laptop or iPad and a quiet place where you can guarantee that you will not be interrupted for an hour. A good internet connection or mobile reception will also be required.
We will have an initial telephone conversation to discuss your Counselling needs and arrange an Initial Assessment.
The Initial Assessment will be conducted via Zoom or Skype for approximately an hour.
The purpose of this initial session is for me to get to know a little about you and what has prompted you to seek counselling. It is also an opportunity for you to get to meet me and see how comfortable you feel in this online environment and ask any questions .
Following the initial assessment I will send you via email a written summary and a recommendation of how we can move forward.
You will receive this email within within 24 hours of your assessment.
We will agree on a day and time for you to begin counselling via Zoom or Skype.
The frequency of the sessions can be discussed and reviewed as required. I offer flexible hours to suit your needs and any set commitments you already have.
